Why Use Ultrasonics?
Ultrasonics Provides Cleaner Parts
Ultrasonic cleaning has long been the "benchmark" in cleaning. Hundreds of specifications reference an ultrasonically cleaned part as the ultimate target for cleanliness. Why? Because ultrasonic cavitation is able to clean right down to the surface of a part and beyond. It is also able to reach internal areas which are not accessible using other cleaning means including spray and mechanical agitation. The forceful nature of ultrasonic energy provides the physical "push" required to break the mechanical and ionic bonds that hold very small particles to surfaces.
Ultrasonic Cleaning is Fast and Consistent
Ultrasonic technology is able to reduce the time required for cleaning by as much as 90%. This is accomplished by enhancing the effect of chemical cleaning agents and physical removal of particles from surfaces. Consistent cleanliness is assured by the ability of ultrasonic energy to reach any surface in contact with the cleaning liquid.
Ultrasonic Cleaning is Safe
Ultrasonic cleaning is often effective using lower chemical concentrations and lower temperatures than alternative cleaning technologies. Recent innovations also allow ultrasonic energy to be tailored to each individual application thereby eliminating the risk of part damage due to surface erosion and/or part resonance. Parts of every description can now be cleaned effectively and without the risk of damage.
Ultrasonic Cleaning is Cost Effective
Ultrasonic cleaning is no longer the high cost alternative. Studies have shown that ultrasonic cleaning may be the lowest cost alternative compared to maintenance and energy-hungry spray and mechanical agitation systems.
