Ultrasonic Generators: Neptune Generators
State of the Art Ultrasonic Generator Technology
Blackstone-NEY Ultrasonics is a recognized leader in ultrasonic generator technology (Technical papers). Starting with the introduction of sweeping frequency in 1988, there has been a continuous stream of development and patents covering new ultrasonic generator and transducer technology from Blackstone-NEY Ultrasonics. Entire families of generators meeting the specific needs of a growing list of applications are now available.
Neptune ®C Generators

Neptune ®C Ultrasonic Generators deliver the most compact, energy efficient and cost-effective
ultrasonic performance in the industry. Highly reliable and designed for continuous operation, 24 hours
a day if needed, each Neptune Generator features:
Uniform Cavitation with Rapid Degas- Neptune generators from Blackstone~NEY Ultrasonics cavitate challenging cleaning chemistries, even difficult hydrocarbon and semi-aqueous solvents, with
ease. Digital technology produces a unique waveform for uniform cavitation throughout the tank and
the fastest degassing in the industry. This allows rapid return to normal process operation reducing
cleaning time and improving productivity.
High Performance, High Reliability Cleaning- Neptune ®C is designed for high performance over a
long service life. In fact, its two-year guarantee is one of the best in the industry. All Neptune ®C
models are equipped with low line-voltage and over-temperature safety cut-outs.
High Peak Power- greater than 2 times the rated output power in the process tank. This is helpful for
removing tenacious soils or for driving difficult to cavitate chemistries like semi-aqueous and
hydrocarbon formulations.
Original Equipment Manufacturer Capabilities- OEM versions are available for electrical box
integration. Blackstone~NEY Ultrasonics provides single generator power output up to 1000 watts.
For larger tanks and high power applications, multiple generators used in a single tank are
synchronized to allow them to work together in unison and to prevent the formation of beat frequencies, which can damage delicate parts.
Specifications:
- Line Modulated Sine Wave Output Signal
The sine wave output frequency is centered on the best frequency for your process, allo wing for
changes in liquid depth, temperature, surface tension, load variation and other factors. Ensures
cleaning consistency and repeatability.
- High Sweep Frequency Rate continually changes the output frequency to eliminate standing waves
in the tank, enhancing cavitation intensity and cleaning uniformity.
- Sweeping Bandwidth for better cleaning efficiency, enhanced cavitation uniformity and faster
recovery.
- Frequency - 25 kHz or 40 kHz
- Input voltage - 120, 208, 220 or 240 Volt 1 Æ, 50/60 Hz
- Output power - 240 to 1,000 Watts
- Peak power > 2 times rated output power (>480 to 2000 watts)
- Sweep frequency- 440 Hz
- Sweep bandwidth- 2 kHz @ 40 kHz / 1 kHz @ 25 kHz
- Conversion efficiency >85% @ 1000 Watts of output
- All units are designed to CE requirements
- All units are tested to FCC rules and regulations, part 18
Options:
Remote 24 VDC on/off: Provides PLC control of the generator which is off except when +24 VDC is
supplied to pin # 1 and returned by pin # 2 on the generator’s remote connector. Provides low voltage
remote operation of the generators.
Remote contact closure on/off: Same as above except that a dry relay contact is provided to remotely
operate the generator.
Power control: Manual control of the generators output power via a calibrated dial located on the
generator. Provides the operator with a means of controlling output power based on the needs of the
cleaning application.
0-10 volt remote power control: It allows the RF output power of the generator to be controlled
between 0% and 100% of full power by a zero to ten volt DC signal. Recommended when integrating
into process benches.
200-watt/volt power output signal: measures the output power of the generator or power module and
supplies a zero to ten volt signal calibrated to 200 watts per volt. Provides the ability to measure the
output power of the generator continuously during the cleaning process. Excellent option for data
acquisition and monitoring generator power during the cleaning process.
Ultra-OK LED: Provides a visual (illuminated LED) indication that RF power is being supplied to the
process tank. Provides the operator a quick visual check that the generators are operating properly.
Ultra-OK contact closure output: The purpose of this feature is to allow a PLC or other device to detect
that a generator is driving the tank or transducers with ultrasonic energy. Excellent feature for process
monitoring.
