Newly Formed "The Cleaning Technologies Group Inc." Acquires the CAE Cleaning Technologies PLC Business Unit from CAE
Cincinnati, June 28, 2002 –
The Cleaning Technologies Group Inc. (CTG) today announced that they have closed a transaction covering the sale of CAE’s "CAE Cleaning Technologies PLC” business, of Bradford, England, to CTG at a purchase price of approximately US$1.0 million. The new business will be renamed "Ransohoff Ltd".
This transaction is a follow on to CTG’s purchase of the Ransohoff Inc. and Blackstone~NEY Ultrasonics business units from CAE earlier this year. These two acquisitions were closed in February of 2002.
The Cleaning Technologies Group Inc. is a holding company, formed to facilitate these acquisitions by a team of CAE’s former Cleaning Technologies management. CTG is headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio, with Stephen Temple, former President of CAE’s Cleaning Technologies, as its CEO.
The acquisition of Cleaning Technologies PLC, formerly Tempest and Dibb Ltd, provides The Cleaning Technologies Group Inc. a strategically important foothold into the European marketplace. Founded in 1947, the newly named Ransohoff Ltd. is one of the UK’s leading suppliers of custom engineered cleaning, surface coating and finishing equipment specializing in both spray and ultrasonic technologies.
According to Mr. Temple, "The addition of Ransohoff Ltd. to our group provides us the visibility and presence we require within the European community. Our major customers mandate that we position ourselves to efficiently supply their system needs on a global basis. This is a significant step in satisfying this important strategic objective”. Mr. David Holmes, previous Managing Director of CAE Cleaning Technologies PLC, will serve as Managing Director of the new business with the entire employee team retained.
